Qatari Diar and Aryan Holding have signed an agreement to open the first branch of Sainsbury's in Qatar at Lusail City, in the presence of Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, CEO of Qatari Diar, HE the Ambassador of United Kingdom to Qatar, and HE Sheikh Suhaim bin Khalid Al-Thani, Chairman of Aryan Holding. 
The first branch of Sainsbury's supermarket will be established at the Commercial Street in the heart of Lusail in the Downtown area. It will include a variety of Sainsbury's products from the UK and around the world with a unique shopping experience. It is expected to open in first quarter of 2022.​​
