Under the patronage and presence of H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Qatari Diar and Qatar Tourism signed a contract with Elegancia Group to establish and operate “Doha Winter Wonderland” on Al Maha Island in Lusail City for a period of five years, starting from 2022. 
The project covers an area of 200,000 square meters on Al Maha Island and includes six play areas with 50 international games for all ages, a beach club, family chalets, a party area, a sporting area, restaurants and cafés, a walkway and parking. It will begin welcoming visitors before the start of The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM and will serve as a new destination for the residents of Qatar and the 2022 Qatar World Cup guests. 

"This project will add a new entertainment destination to Qatar's list of international tourist destinations," said H. E. Mr. Akbar Al Baker, President of Qatar Tourism. "It will serve both people in Qatar and visitors over the next five years, especially during the 2022 World Cup Qatar, where the project is planned to be launched before the tournament begins next year." 
H.E. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatari Diar, said, “Once the project is completed, it will not be a tourist attraction targeting domestic tourism only, it will go beyond that to become a phenomenal and unique addition to the rapidly increasing list of world-class tourist attractions in the State of Qatar."
