The recently-opened Lusail Marina was alive with activity yesterday in an event organized by the Qatari Diar Group to celebrate Qatar’s first National Sports Day.

An assorted group of Qatari Diar subsidiaries and partners collaborated to organize the event, including: Lusail Real Estate Development Company, Sinohydro, Al Jaber & Partners, Samsung C&T, Parsons, QDVC, QD-CPC, QD-SBG, MMG, Marafeq Qatar, Turner & Townsend, and SMEET.

The company’s National Sports Day program featured activities for people of all ages, and was attended by a large number of Qatari Diar staff and partners accompanied by their families.

The day’s festivities began with a speed walking competition around the Lusail Marina’s pedestrian paths, followed by a number of recreational and sports competitions including mini-tournaments in table tennis, football, volleyball and cricket. Children flocked to the kid’s zone for their own range of recreational activities.

The day’s events culminated in an award ceremony honoring the winning teams and a hardy lunch for all the sports enthusiasts present.
