Qatari Diar has announced the start of implementation of the first phase of the CityGate project in Egypt at a value of one billion Egyptian pounds,at a ceremony attended by HE Salem Mubarak Al-Shafi Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt , Eng. Khaled Abbas Egypt's Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects, Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah CEO of Qatari Diar, Sheikh Hamad bin Talal Al-Thani, Director, Development and Project Delivery (Egypt, Sudan & Eritrea) at Qatari Diar, and a number of dignitaries
Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, CEO of Qatari Diar, said: “CityGate project is expected to provide nearly 200,000 job opportunities during the period of its implementation, and Qatari Diar is in the process of announcing its development and investment plans and strategic partnerships on all of its owned lands in Egypt before the end of the year.”
Eng. Khaled Abbas, Egypt's Deputy Minister of Housing for National Projects, said: “We are delighted to sign the contract and to begin the implementation of the first phase of the CityGate project, which is a great addition to its location next to the Administrative Capital. We will support the project and overcome any obstacles it faces, in collaboration with Qatari Diar; certainly, considered one of the largest and most distinguished companies.”
Eng. Mohamed Tarek, Managing Director of North Africa at Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), said: “We are pleased that Qatari Diar has selected us as the main contractor for the CityGate project, in continuation to the long-term successful partnerships in various countries that include Egypt, Qatar, Sudan, Morocco and Yemen, that enable us to deliver outstanding projects.”
